Friday Fun-day: Waltham Park with Shade

Shade, Shade Please. 

It's been really hot! Finding a place to play outside in the shade is essential. One of my favorite parks with an abundance of shade is Waltham Park. There are huge trees all around the playground, so it's shaded even in the middle of the day. 

The park has an engaging and fairly new play structure and two of each type of swing. 

Picnicking is also possible here-- there's a small pavilion with two picnic tables and plenty of shade on the grass for a picnic blanket. 

It's located on the West side in a quiet neighborhood near Maple Grove Dr. It's not usually very busy. The address is 2617 Waltham Rd, Madison, WI 53711. 

I co-hosted my friend's bridal shower at Waltham Park a few weeks ago because of the great shade. This is the best pic I have of the playground : )
