How to Make a Memory Match Game in 5 Minutes

CG is getting old enough to start playing some basic games. Memory match teaches turn taking, following rules, and looking for similarities and differences. We whipped up our own cards yesterday. Here's how to make a set.

1. Find a manilla folder or old cereal box. Cut the edge to make it straight.

2. Cut two strips. Save the rest so that you can add more pieces once your child has mastered the game.
3. Stack the two pieces on top of each other and cut to make 10 squares.
4. Make designs on the squares. We did different-colored shapes and doggies: purple doggie, and "abstract doggie." : )

5. Teach the rules and play! Then play again, and again, and again! This game was also fun for me.
