Winter Walk: Military Ridge State Trail

It's been a little dreary. The weight of the world is pretty heavy these days.

Last weekend I got to connect with a good friend. We picked up coffees at Tuvalu in Verona and sat at the picnic tables in the park shelter. Then we walked on Military Ridge State Trail. It was snowy, but we had our boots on, and it wasn't too cold.

I looked over at her and grinned and yelled, "This is fun!!!" Our standard for fun is lower than it's ever been before: freezing picnic benches and a walk on a snow-covered trail.

Apparently this is a popular activity as we saw at least four other pairs of walkers on the trail, in Wisconsin, in the middle of winter. In any WI winter, it's important to get outside and move, but in this winter especially, outdoor exercise and seeing friends safely is so helpful.

What are your favorite winter walking spots?
